Reconfiguring food materialities: plant-based food consumption practices in antagonistic landscapes

The aim of this paper is to conceptualize and discuss how plant-based food consumption accomplished in an environment pre-configured by meat-based practices. Drawing on ethnographic interviews with thirteen consumers, using a socio-material practice approach, the demonstrates shopping, cooking eating practices are enabled shaped material reconfigurations. shows developments such as expanding range products, increased use social media, re-appropriation shops kitchens all entail continuous reconfiguration materials involved Together, these reconfigurations form landscape that mutable changing, thus enabling consumption. In addition, also suggests not something can be managed due having evolved collective process which multiple actors take part, guided their own interests. doing so, illustrates that, order understand consumption, well its emergence, performance, complexities, we must into account practical aspects involved, just cultural or cognitive mechanisms.
